5 Ways to Promote Healthy Poop!

Hey Divas!

Let’s face it digestion is the key having a healthy lifestyle! No matter how healthy we are eating if our digestion is jacked up it can cause some problems when trying to lose and maintain weight.

The digestion system is basically a big tube called the esophagus the food goes down this tube and then through a valve to our stomach to the small intestine where we get the nutritional value of whatever it was we ate from there it moves to the large intestine this is where water is absorbed to sustain life and then from there the rest goes out the ” poop-shoot ” and into the toilet!

When the process is working the way it should you feel fabulous and fancy free when it’s not you’re shoot in bricks or pooping a river!#notagoodlookforadiva

Here are five ways that you can ensure that your digestion is working and that your internal organization is a smooth running machine!

1.Chew Your Food Divas!
Slow your role we’re asking our stomachs to do the most when we inhale food it can not process it fast enough.

2. Watch Portion Size! Prior to our ” Fly By July ” mission we may have eaten a lot and caused for our stomachs to stretch so it’s use to getting the stretch everyday in the beginning or eating less food you can be hungry for a couple of days before the nerve ending around our stomach shrinks back. Persevere Divas!

3. Do Not Drink while Eating! So that your stomach acid can do what it needs to do and break down food also a great tip to promote optimal stomach acid is to Lemon Juice and a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar to help stimulate the production of stomach acid.

4. Take a quality probiotic! Our body needs a balance of good and bad bacteria to digest food. Going back to why it’s important to chew your food if we inhale food our bacteria does not digest it so it basically ferments in our body and we pass gas and fart to levels unknown to mankind! It stinks. This can also happen if we do not have high enough levels of acid in our stomach. A quality probiotic promotes healthier digestion and trips to throne with ease.

5. Get a handle on STRESS! When we are stressed out our bodies make Adrenaline because it thinks it’s in danger. Now because we are not running away from bears or typically our life is not physically our body creates Cortisol to help us feel good and chill out and we end up craving fat filled food and gain weight. Yoga is a great way to de-stress and connect with your inner diva or even an after dinner walk or maybe even catch up with an old friend. Take a bubble bath whatever it is do you unplug and de-stress Dear Diva!

I love to add my probiotic in my smoothies!

If you suffer from constipation or irregular bowel movements you need some probiotics in your life!

I use USANA’s probiotic because it is dairy-free sugar free and gluten-free! It’s designed to support digestion and healthy immune function. 😉

Melody’s Story

October 27, 2014

Mia The Diva

Hello Divas!

It’s Monday it’s a new week, new beginnings and a time to get motivated for the week that’s ahead… what I love about today’s story ( It was not in the headline ) is that this not about weight loss really it’s about having support. Having support is vital and key to our long-term success. I think that so many of us miss that piece of the puzzle. Weight-loss and Weight Management is something that we do for ourselves but not by ourselves.

Weight loss and Weight management is a personal topic and there are lot of divas out there who want to do it on their own, or think that they do not need support. We are all human we are here to connect and build with one another. It’s a part of the human experience! We should not cheat ourselves we only have one life to live make it fabulous!

” Most vital to my weight loss was the encouragement of my family and friends.” – Melody Regnary

Why is Eating so complicated?

July 10, 2014

Mia The Diva

Hey Divas!

Eating has gotten so complicated hasn’t it? Sometimes it can get frustrating when the racing thoughts come to mind of what should I eat how much of it, when should I eat? It’s pretty crazy how that like everybody is familiar with antioxidants, saturated fat, omega -3 fatty acid carbohydrates, gluten, probiotics, folic acid, stevia, simple carbs, complex carbs, the list is endless! In general we know it’s good for us and it ends there, most of us do not know why it’s good for us.

The crazy thing is that with ALL of this information we have it seems like food is not food anymore and somehow the enjoyment and satisfaction of eating has turned into counting carbs and nutritional facts more than the simple enjoyment of eating a good meal.
Having so much information can overwhelm a diva!

Feeling frustrated and confused in general about how to eat is what promoted me to deep dive and learn about nutrition and learn about how to eat properly and make better food choices.

I don’t want to have to rely on someone to tell me what to eat. I have worked with personal trainers who have given me a ” list ” to eat from and it did not work for me long-term because I did not understand food and how it worked in my body. I eventually got bored with my ” list ” and went back to my X Mr. McNasty…..he can sure sweet talk a diva during those late night foodie calls……. I know it’s complicated.

I’ve had to learn from my body and listen to her of what food works what food doesn’t. It’s not over night it takes time. What I have found out is that typically if I’m craving a certain food means that I am lacking that nutrient, for example milk; if a diva starts stalking and tip cows at night for milk ….then ummmm you may need calcium however calcium foods are typically higher in fat calories so experts recommend to take a calcium supplement to help curb the craving but still get the nutrition without the extra calories when trying to lose weight.

#Foodtip broccoli is a great source of calcium!
