Hello Divas!
If you had a lover in your life how would you dress? How would you take care of yourself? Where would you go? What would you do? Paint a picture of what life would be like and envision it!
Self-Care has got to be by far the most secret of weapons when starting a wellness journey.
When we become unhealthy or out of shape usually we are not feeling very well about ourselves or sometimes even life in general. It can show through our food choices, our appearance and our attitude. We may tend to over eat, slack on our appearances or even become depressed subconsciously.
When we find love in our life all of that seems to change. We may start working out or maybe dressing a bit cuter taking a little more time with makeup. We can become a joy to be around and seem to have a smile permanently glued to our vibrant faces!
Then what happens when that lover is gone… however it may be? Some of us go back to our old ways of self – loathing. #notagoodlookforadiva!
I know I have almost gotten my diva card pulled a couple of times in this vicious cycle and un-diva like behavior. Health is for yourself. We have to be selfish about it. If we do not have our health we have nothing to offer ourselves or anyone else for that matter. When we do not have our health we do not have our life, not in a physical sense but the quality of our life.
Out of frustration, I started to think about this cycle and learned I don’t need anyone to validate me. I didn’t need anyone to feel good about myself and I certainly did not need anyone to dress cute for. What I have learned when I find myself in these slumps the best way to pull out of it is self-care.
When I take better care of myself, I go back to doing the things that I love, I take pride in my appearance, and change my approach to life situations….. magic seems to happen.
Treat yourself like a lover. How are you going to dress, where are you going to go, who will you go see, what things will you do? What foods will you eat, where will you go work out at? How will life look for you treating yourself? Vision it.
When we truly love ourselves is when we discover our value and attract what we deserve in our lives and have the ability to share our gifts with the world!

Hey Divas!
So what’s the deal with calcium? Did you know that very few people get the recommended daily amount of it?
Study’s have shown that people who tend to be deficient in calcium tend to carry extra weight than those who don’t. The theory is that if we are low in calcium our brains will tell us to eat more food that contains calcium which most of are high in fat like dairy products! Yes Extra Sour Cream Please!
About Calcium Supplements: Some scientist believe that it can help break down fat more efficiently. The daily recommended amount is 1000 milligrams calcium is absorbed better in divided doses so break it up! Be sure to take a trusted calcium supplement and avoid the ” natural ” ones they have oyster shell or bone meal they are less regulated and can contain lead.

Hey Divas!
How frustrating is it when we go full throttle watching what we eat hitting the gym everyday sweating our buns off and no matter if we give it 110% or zero we still look the same still overweight and in some cases even gaining!
Whaaaaaaats sup with that!?!?!
Simply put calories is a form of energy that our body burns, think of a car you can get good gas or cheap gas if you put in good gas your car is purrrrrring it runs more efficiently and your gas seems to last forever! Ok when we are short on coin and buy the cheap stuff our car runs hard it’s hacking hair balls and our gas burns out before we make it to the next corner and we have to refill again almost immediately!
It’s no different with our bodies, we all require x amount of calories to sustain our current size and x amount calories to reduce our size.
Eating whole foods low carbs is the good gas and fast food, high carb, high fat is the cheap gas. Eating whole foods will keep us feeling fuller longer give our bodies the nutrients that it needs and it will burn fat efficiently and reduce risk of disease.
Eating fast foods of high carbs and fat will cause our body to store the energy as fat and clog us up over time….that can cause heart disease, stroke and cancer it’s cheap gas so it will burn up as quickly as you fill it and you will buy gas twice in a week where as if you have the good stuff you only have to buy once a week. In the long run in more ways than one the cheap gas is more expensive.
It does not matter how much we work out, if we are not giving our bodies the proper nutrition we are just burning empty calories that literally blow out of our back-end! Our results are minimal or we even may gain in some cases and our energy levels tend to stay low.
I think that sometimes we forget that food is here to energize us not exhaust us! Let’s treat ourselves right only high quality gas for our Fabulous vessels!!!!

Hey Divas!
Let me tell you I don’t like water. I don’t like to drink it, it’s tasteless and boring however without it I will die without it so I make due and drink it!
Yes we all know that we need to drink water but why? What makes water so important? Well for one, it helps keep our blood flow and provides support for our joints. It is also key in the digestion process to transport nutrients and waste out of our cells.
So how much water should a diva drink really? We hear it everywhere 8 glasses a day but nothing really to support it. It has also been said by Kidney specialist that only 4 8oz a day. We get water in food alone that’s why some of can still survive without drying up drinking little to no water.
It’s always best to drink water when you are thirsty in the day-to-day.. but you’re reading this blog so I am sure that your goal is to get healthy or lose weight.
In weight loss water takes up space! If you are not drinking it you will find things to fill in that space maybe something of calories it could be a drink or food because you are hungry. Water can make you feel full and works as a great appetite suppressant.
Increasing your water intake can help speed up your metabolism and help burn calories faster!
Drinking a glass before each meal is a great way to get water in, in your day-to-day!
Cheers and Drink Up Divas!

Hello Divas!
It’s Monday it’s a new week, new beginnings and a time to get motivated for the week that’s ahead… what I love about today’s story ( It was not in the headline ) is that this not about weight loss really it’s about having support. Having support is vital and key to our long-term success. I think that so many of us miss that piece of the puzzle. Weight-loss and Weight Management is something that we do for ourselves but not by ourselves.
Weight loss and Weight management is a personal topic and there are lot of divas out there who want to do it on their own, or think that they do not need support. We are all human we are here to connect and build with one another. It’s a part of the human experience! We should not cheat ourselves we only have one life to live make it fabulous!
