Hello Beauties!

It is week now week 3 comming to a close in Destination Transformation. This week I started Kick Boxing! The first day was terrible I could feel every pound of my body as I had to work with with it instead of against it. I could barely do any of the exercises but I did what I could I had the kicks and the punches down but when it came time to do crunches push ups and sit ups wheeeeewwwwwwwww WOW.

The following day I was sore and could barely move my body, the following day after I went to my next class and WOW what an improvement! I still could not do all the exercises but I was able to adjust them to my fitness level, push ups with my knees and sqauts at half mass LoL!

I ended the week attending a Bootcamp it was alot of fun and challenging to switch things up I am a person who gets bored very easily so this was a great work out we were constantly doing something different every 60 seconds! Great Work Out! Take Caution not all Bootcamps are alike so do your research and find a good one that has a good reputation.

Progress is just that progress I know we can become anxious and want to see immeadiate results but we have to take heart and realize we did not get where we are immeadiatly it all happens over time just as we get out of shape and unhealthy or gain weight it’s not something that happend the day before yesterday. It’s progressive and we can flip it and be progressive towards better health and fitness levels. In time we’ll be in the best shape of our lives and as FLY as EVER! It’s never too late to take control of our health! It is going to take time but it’s all about the journey and I am enjoying every minute of it.

Your Weight Your BMI & Diabetes

Hello Beauties!

BMI what exactly does it mean? Sure we have heard about it and know that having a high number is ” bad behavior ” and what does it have to do with Diabetes?

BMI stands for Body Mass Index and basically it’s basically a measurement chart that says based off your height and weight you fall into a catagory of being slender, normal , and overweight. If a diva’s BMI is under 20 she’s gonna need to chicken and fast! If a diva is 25-29 she’s cool in the gang! If a diva is over 30 she needs to simmer it down a bit and get focused! The crazy thing is that when we think of obese we think of someone weighing 350 to 400 to 600 pounds and beyond. The scary statistic is that by these numbers more than half of the people in the United States are obese! # Not a good look for a diva this has got to change too many people dying to long and living to short!

Divas want to be in the mid range because it makes controlling diabetes and blood pressure easier which goes without saying. Obesity is one of the leading risk factors for coronary artery disease.

Eat Food

Hello Beauties!

What’s a diva to eat? It’s the question of last century and this century too! We seem to know everything in the information age but when it comes to something as simple as food we seem to make it complex for ourselves! Afterall there are 17,000 products that show up in the grocery store year after year! All in competition for our oh so valuable food dollar! They want us to make it rain but not give real food in return. I work for my dollars! I’m sure you do too! The sad truth of it is that it’s not all even real food! The bulk of this is highly over processed foods that are mostly from soy and corn with all the chemical Sh*t storm stuff that is placed in it! It never goes bad and you can eat it when you’re 80! # not a good look for a diva!

When it comes to eating well we just have got to come down and choose real food. If it can go bad it’s good for us if it can not go bad then it’s not simple as that and drink lots and lots of water!

It’s taken me a lifetime to come to this realization but it’s food. Just food is all we need to eat. A healthy portion balance of food. The easiest thing in the world but always seems to be the biggest challenge when it comes to trying to lose weight. I am Guilty as charged!

I have found it easy to keep track of my water by counting the bottles I know that I need 4 to 5 of them daily and then I add a bottle before my work out and after to stay hydrated it’s difficult to stay on track but this has been helping me so far. When it comes to food I just make sure it is perishable even for frozen foods.

Hello Beauties!

It’s Monday it’s a new week new beginnings to take on the world once again for another 7 days! I use to dread Mondays but now I look forward to them. It’s a time to renew and rejuvenate. I let go from all the “ish” that happend from the prior week. I dust it off my shoulders and keep it rollin!

Today I want to touch a bit on motivation this is the end of January is approaching and some of us can ” die-off ” from our New Years Resolutions. We may have hit the Gym and hit it hard maybe a little too hard and have tired ourselves out. We may have forgotten to bring our packed lunch or did not have time to prep our food. It’s a laundry list of the things that could have happend or currently going on….. it’s been a rainy day on our Motivation Parade!

Our desire to change must be greater than our desire to stay the same. In my humble opinion it is the only way that we can stay motivated along with setting a Strong Goal one that is achievable but not too easy where you do not challenge yourself and not too challenging that you become unmotivated and overwhelmed. # not a good look for a diva!

We’ve all been there when we want the best from ourselves and sometimes not matter how good our intentons it may get the best of ourselves. So keep the goals strong and keep the goals S.M.A.R.T ( Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Realistic, Time Frame )

It may seem slow at times but as long as we set a Goal and take ACTION daily I believe that is the only way for us to reach our ultimate goal if takes us 3 weeks or 3 years it’s our goal and we own it.

There is a cause and effect to everything that we do.

Random Thought: Get Over it.

Hello Beauties!

Week 2 has come to a close in Destination Transformation. I did not gain or lose just kinda rock steady, however I got lots accomplished. I am registered back into Kick-Boxing it’s a great cardio work out and you get to vent lots of frustrations through kicking and punching. Best-Stress relief ever!

When it comes to losing weight it can be a very beautiful horrible time. It’s hard work our body goes through changes and some people may try to make you tolerate their B.S because they see you as a ” diva down ” who is a diva who is turning her luck and changing her life around for the better and it can scare these people because sometimes when we change people have to face themselves and realize they made need some changing too so people will watch you, judge you, rate you, hate you; then there are those who will some will love you, encourage you, strengthen you, and inspire you. Those are the ones you want on your Christmas card list 🙂 The negative people they can kick rocks. Get Over it. You’re not looking in their direction because this Diva is moving on!

I have battled with my weight back and forth like a tug-o-war for years! I would get motivated then stop begin and then stop. True it’s all progress but there will come a time when you get frustrated. There will come a time when enough is enough. There come a time when you put YOU first. There will come a time when you have to look yourself in the mirror and stop ALL the excuses.

There will come a time when you want it so bad it is on the tip of your tongue yet you can barely taste it. It will be your first thought when you wake up and your last thought before you go to bed. You are going to WANT this.

It’s human nature we tend to go for the things that we WANT rather than the things that we NEED. Starting a weight loss journey or a fitness journey puts you in the driver’s seat of your life.

It gives us the best of both worlds once we demand it as a WANT and we earn it, only then will we shift gears and sustain it as a need we tend to fear things that we will lose and believe me I’m not there yet but I know once I reach goal I never want to go back to where I was!

Take Note: In general people do not WANT change that is why it is so crucial to really ask ourselves WHY DO I WANT TO GET HEALTHY? DEMAND IT FROM YOURSELVES! YOU HAVE TO WANT IT WORK AT IT AND ATTAIN IT BEFORE YOU CAN EVER SEE IT AS A NEED, FEAR OF LOSS IS GREATER THAN THE DESIRE FOR GAIN IN OUR LIVES. SO MAKE YOUR GOAL BIG MAKE IT COUNT MAKE IT SOMETHING WORTH FIGHTING FOR MAKE IT SOMETHING THAT YOU CAN NOT LOSE!

There is no time like the present, you can have all the MOTIVATION in the world, all the support in the world, but when you get to the “durty durty” and (I’n not talking about Atlanta ) of it all. It’s all you Diva. WE MUST TAKE ACTION!

It’s ALL on you. It’s all IN you. You’ve got this sister! It’s all about YOU!

Losing weight is something that you have to do FOR YOURSELF but you do not have to do it BY YOURSELF.

That’s what support groups, friends, and family are for. To SUPPORT think of them like a good bra while you are on your journey to living the best days of our life!
