Hey Divas!
Let’s face it digestion is the key having a healthy lifestyle! No matter how healthy we are eating if our digestion is jacked up it can cause some problems when trying to lose and maintain weight.
The digestion system is basically a big tube called the esophagus the food goes down this tube and then through a valve to our stomach to the small intestine where we get the nutritional value of whatever it was we ate from there it moves to the large intestine this is where water is absorbed to sustain life and then from there the rest goes out the ” poop-shoot ” and into the toilet!
When the process is working the way it should you feel fabulous and fancy free when it’s not you’re shoot in bricks or pooping a river!#notagoodlookforadiva
Here are five ways that you can ensure that your digestion is working and that your internal organization is a smooth running machine!
1.Chew Your Food Divas! Slow your role we’re asking our stomachs to do the most when we inhale food it can not process it fast enough.
2. Watch Portion Size! Prior to our ” Fly By July ” mission we may have eaten a lot and caused for our stomachs to stretch so it’s use to getting the stretch everyday in the beginning or eating less food you can be hungry for a couple of days before the nerve ending around our stomach shrinks back. Persevere Divas!
3. Do Not Drink while Eating! So that your stomach acid can do what it needs to do and break down food also a great tip to promote optimal stomach acid is to Lemon Juice and a tablespoon of Apple Cider Vinegar to help stimulate the production of stomach acid.
4. Take a quality probiotic! Our body needs a balance of good and bad bacteria to digest food. Going back to why it’s important to chew your food if we inhale food our bacteria does not digest it so it basically ferments in our body and we pass gas and fart to levels unknown to mankind! It stinks. This can also happen if we do not have high enough levels of acid in our stomach. A quality probiotic promotes healthier digestion and trips to throne with ease.
5. Get a handle on STRESS! When we are stressed out our bodies make Adrenaline because it thinks it’s in danger. Now because we are not running away from bears or typically our life is not physically our body creates Cortisol to help us feel good and chill out and we end up craving fat filled food and gain weight. Yoga is a great way to de-stress and connect with your inner diva or even an after dinner walk or maybe even catch up with an old friend. Take a bubble bath whatever it is do you unplug and de-stress Dear Diva!
I love to add my probiotic in my smoothies!
If you suffer from constipation or irregular bowel movements you need some probiotics in your life!

Hey Divas!
Let me tell you I don’t like water. I don’t like to drink it, it’s tasteless and boring however without it I will die without it so I make due and drink it!
Yes we all know that we need to drink water but why? What makes water so important? Well for one, it helps keep our blood flow and provides support for our joints. It is also key in the digestion process to transport nutrients and waste out of our cells.
So how much water should a diva drink really? We hear it everywhere 8 glasses a day but nothing really to support it. It has also been said by Kidney specialist that only 4 8oz a day. We get water in food alone that’s why some of can still survive without drying up drinking little to no water.
It’s always best to drink water when you are thirsty in the day-to-day.. but you’re reading this blog so I am sure that your goal is to get healthy or lose weight.
In weight loss water takes up space! If you are not drinking it you will find things to fill in that space maybe something of calories it could be a drink or food because you are hungry. Water can make you feel full and works as a great appetite suppressant.
Increasing your water intake can help speed up your metabolism and help burn calories faster!
Drinking a glass before each meal is a great way to get water in, in your day-to-day!
Cheers and Drink Up Divas!

Hello Beauties!
In addition to being fabulous, a lot of our lifestyle is structured around what we eat. In weight management food is very important.
People can work out for hours and hours, cardio and power walk, run themselves to death sweat out in saunas only to get frustrated when just ” water weight ” comes off and never really seem to lose anything.
Such a shame after a Diva has sweated her hair out and no results!
In managing weight it’s 90% of what you eat, and 10% of exercise, so let’s check out how our diets compare:
The American Cancer Society has developed guidelines to help you reduce your risk for cancer and other ” lifestyle ” illnesses like heart disease and diabetes etc.
Did you know that scientist estimate that 35% of all cancer deaths may be related to what we eat?
We don’t need to be buying flowers for any divas anytime soon so check out these steps listed below to help get us started on the path to eating clean.
* Avoiding Obesity ( weighing more than 20% or more of your target weight standard based on your frame and if you are small or big boned )
* Eating fewer foods that have high cholesterol levels.
* Cutting down on fat intake – primarily from animals that come from meat and dairy products
*Eating bulkier, high fiber foods like veggies and whole grain breads and cereals
* Eating at least 5 servingsof fruits and veggies each day especially those rich in vitamin A and Vitamin C.
* Consuming moderate amounts of salt cured, smoked, foods like bacon, ham, and smoked fish.
* Don’t blame it on the alcohol! LoL limit your intake if you drink at all
* Cutting down on salt
* Reduce intake of sugar
* Reducing fat intake
* Choose food items with less than one gram of fat per 30 calories.
* Keep saturated fat ( found in animal products and packaged foods ) less than 10% of total calories.
* Calculate the percentage of calories from fat by ( amount of calories x .30 = number of calories from fat )
If you need help on deciding what to eat and how much of it use The Food Guide Pyramid.
