Hey Divas!
You know I love goals. Goals carry us through when the going get tough and the tough get going in regardless of what we do.
In lifestyle change focusing on that magic number has caused me more grief than I don’t know what over the years. It’s lead to yo-yo dieting, feelings of guilt and shame when I did not reach my goal and worse going back to my old ways my old patterns when I gained back. I’ve had lofty weightloss goals in the past and that has only led to feelings by being overwhelmed and little by little fall off track and eventually off program #notagoodlookforadiva
In short I ended up getting completely frustrated and ended up quitting. #flybyjuly is about shifting focus from the scale to being healthy! There are so many benefits beyond the scale that we get from working out I have so much more energy I feel beautiful and strong. I am proud of my body.
Once I shifted my goals to health goals it has been a complete lifestyle change years in the works but little by little I’ve changed my food choices I am more aware of what I put into my body and understand the value of proper nutrition. I started my wellness journey officially 5 years ago I am no where close to were I want to be but I am getting there progress makes more progress 🙂
If you still have the urge to get ” Skinny ” why not shift your focus to a dress size instead of weight because weight goes up and down when gaining muscles from working out so don’t be so hard on yourself dear diva!
Once I started to feel my clothes fitting a bit loser it has given me motivation to keep going.

Hey Divas!
The day I noticed I was rockin a Full C Cup on my back everything changed.
When I was first getting started on my wellness journey years ago I was not sure when to work out how long to workout. I just showed up at the gym like Hellooooo I’m here! I walked on the treadmill for about 15 minutes and then if I was up for it I would hit the stair master for a couple of steps until I became lightheaded ( 3 minutes later ) and then headed to the smoothie bar. My work out was all of 20 minutes.
I was completely lost. The few little calories I burned from my 20-30 minute work outs cost me more in gas than the calories I burned. I was still overweight and still on E something had to change. #notagoodlookforadiva
It’s #FlyByJuly365 and I am committed to stepping up my game. I’m ready to do the work.
Experts suggest to start at a 60 minute work-out 5 times a week:
5 minute warm-up cardio session
50 minutes main exercise ( Sweat Sesh #backfatblaasst )
5 minute cool down to bring the heart rate down to normal
If we are good to our bodies, our bodies will be good to us!

Hey Divas!
I’ve missed you Ladies! Summer is around the corner it’s about that time!
Warning: Long Post!
It’s been a minute and I hope that everyone is doing Fabulous on their health & wellness journeys! As we all know with this lifestyle change there is no straight arrow to success there are stops and curves and scribbles and circles before we get to where we want to be and I’m learning that the process is the fun part what a story we will have to share with one another!
I had to take a step back in order to take a step forward in my life. I had to prioritize what is truly important to me and carry on the work that God has called me to do.
When we abandon our calling not intentionally but more of getting in our own way and pursuing a life the way we think it’s suppose to be lived. In my experience this  leads to disaster and feeling ” lost ” in this world.
If you are blessed to know your calling embrace it. If you don’t know your calling seek it. The only way you will find it is when you never pass up an opportunity and love everything! You will know you have found your sweet spot when you not only love what you do but you are passionate about it.
Embracing your calling is a gift and unique to you and only you so share with the world! We are all here to build to connect and to grow with one another.
So in short, I’m still here and so is Fly by July! I’ve experienced and experiencing medical challenges recently that I will be sharing in future post so this season Fly by July 2015 I will be focusing on documenting my journey we all know how this social media thing works LoL
If you don’t know now you know… ( In my Biggie Smalls voice )

This entire campaign is truly a passion and dream of mine that I’m not giving up on because everyone deserves to feel beautiful and needs support in one form or another when starting and continuing a healthy lifestyle, not everyone in the world is down for eating Kale Steaks and taking a swig of green smoothies on the daily. PLUS who doesn’t want to reap the benefits of living a HEALTHIER LIFESTYLE!
Like having a beautiful body that you are proud of a body that you earned. Having the energy to play with your kids, grandkids, husbands boyfriends and boo-thangs or even just having the energy to enjoy a Ladies Night with your girls.
Having the energy to go anywhere and do anything that your heart desires! It could be having the confidence to date again going for a job promotion or even possibly starting your own business! The world is your oyster divas and the possibilities are endless it doesn’t matter where you are in life if it be in your 20’s 30’s 40’s and beyond.
If we’re not growing we’re slowly dying and who’s trying to die!?! #notagoodlookforadiva Nobody has time for that right now we all have full lives ahead of us to live!
A brand new Fabulous Life awaits those who desire to seek it!
I don’t know of anyone who desires to get heart disease, diabetes, cancer, etc. we can not stop disease from striking us but we can take care of ourselves so that we have the best defense should it strike!
So when you are ready to makeover your lifestyle you will know it!

Hey Divas!
Let me tell you I don’t like water. I don’t like to drink it, it’s tasteless and boring however without it I will die without it so I make due and drink it!
Yes we all know that we need to drink water but why? What makes water so important? Well for one, it helps keep our blood flow and provides support for our joints. It is also key in the digestion process to transport nutrients and waste out of our cells.
So how much water should a diva drink really? We hear it everywhere 8 glasses a day but nothing really to support it. It has also been said by Kidney specialist that only 4 8oz a day. We get water in food alone that’s why some of can still survive without drying up drinking little to no water.
It’s always best to drink water when you are thirsty in the day-to-day.. but you’re reading this blog so I am sure that your goal is to get healthy or lose weight.
In weight loss water takes up space! If you are not drinking it you will find things to fill in that space maybe something of calories it could be a drink or food because you are hungry. Water can make you feel full and works as a great appetite suppressant.
Increasing your water intake can help speed up your metabolism and help burn calories faster!
Drinking a glass before each meal is a great way to get water in, in your day-to-day!
Cheers and Drink Up Divas!

Hello Divas!
It’s Monday it’s a new week, new beginnings and a time to get motivated for the week that’s ahead… what I love about today’s story ( It was not in the headline ) is that this not about weight loss really it’s about having support. Having support is vital and key to our long-term success. I think that so many of us miss that piece of the puzzle. Weight-loss and Weight Management is something that we do for ourselves but not by ourselves.
Weight loss and Weight management is a personal topic and there are lot of divas out there who want to do it on their own, or think that they do not need support. We are all human we are here to connect and build with one another. It’s a part of the human experience! We should not cheat ourselves we only have one life to live make it fabulous!
” Most vital to my weight loss was the encouragement of my family and friends.” – Melody Regnary
