Hi Divas!

Welcome to our first official week of ” Flying Back into Fall ” Rome was not built in a day so it will take us time to reach our fitness/weight loss goals. We can’t just say I want to lose 20lbs … 50 lbs… 100lbs… or run the NYC marathon this spring and not have a plan!

There is a saying that goes If you fail to plan then plan to fail.

This is something that I have struggled with for years because I did not know how to plan. I did not know much about calories and to be honest it was very confusing and frustrating because I did not understand it.

A healthy journey is not a straight arrow there are a lot of turns and curves and rebounds it’s not an easy road to travel but as along as we stay on that road we will eventually reach a fork where we can either continue to healthy journey or go back to our old ways. It’s up to us to decide.

Yes! We will have to know what we are eating and how much of it we will need to know how much exercise we are doing so we know what to change. Taking notice now will pay off BIG come Campaign season!

It’s kind of like this think of a house being built without a blueprint if you ” wing it and piece it together is this a house that you would feel safe living in? It’s no different with our bodies.

If your goal is just lose weight for the sake of weight loss then you can lose weight with any diet literally…but if your goal is to be Healthy Fly and Fabulous then subscribe to the blog and read on… divas the first step is to get moving again… it’s hard, it bites hard! You know what, it’s worth it. I just started a walking regimen that includes a lot of stairs and an hill. I complain but then I remember who I am doing this for, myself. We are no good to anyone one else if we are not in check ourselves.

If our physical activity is low the total energy our body burns is low. There is no diet anywhere that will allow a diva to not exercise and maintain a healthy weight if she be over or under.

Yes it’s true you can lose weight thousands of ways without having to exercise. A diva can only do this for so long until she loses her weight starts feeling cute ( we’ve all been there ) and then ….. ahhhhh relaaaaax and BOOM! The weight come back on.

Fauuuuuwww***k.

It’s not all about weightloss… getting active will make a diva feel absolutely Fabulous and she will want to be more active! So get out there and give it a whirl!

We’re Flying Back into Fall! Summer Bodies are made in the winter so if you’re up for a challenge Let’s GOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Like I said every week Sunday now through December 21st there will be a weekly post to get us ready for the Official Challenge this winter!

Guidelines: Divas this is just for educational purposes only as always please consult with a doctor before starting any kind of fitness or weight loss plan. I’m not trying to buy any flowers!

To get the most of these next 8 weeks is to make a commitment to yourself and start taking baby step actions now so you are ready to go full throttle come this winter. Take advantage of the weekly challenges when the time is right for you.

The ultimate intention of this soft launch is to prepare you and get you mentally and physically ready to take on the challenge.

Rome was not built in a day…changing your lifestyle and changing your body will not happen in a day either so be easy on yourself. I’m right in there with you have been battling for years I am committed to making 2015 my year and I am taking as many divas with me who want 2015 to be their year as well.

I know I have been a bit low on the fbj scenes as I have been working hard on the next campaign launch! I’m working on a smaller scale campaign ‘Fly Back Into Fall” as a soft launch into the main campaign that kicks off this Winter! I want for us to really start connecting and getting into the habit of building these behaviors so it is not a huge shock to our system come Winter!

The ” Fly Back into Fall “Campaign will run Monday October 13th through Sunday December 21st. There will be a weekly challenge posted on Sundays to help us warm up and prepare before the Official Kick-Off this winter! All that you need to get started is a pedometer, and a commitment to change!

You can join in anytime during the campaign but I recommend you start on the 13th to get the full benefit of the program.

Top 5 “All You Can Eat ” Buffet Survival Tips!

So what’s a diva to do at a buffet when she is trying to get fly and fit? I live in Las Vegas so it’s pretty much a lifestyle, yea.pretty.much. It’s a challenge to go with no intention to……break.every.rule.in.the.book.

We wanna get our money’s worth and the salad bar us just that the salad bar.

So a diva had to look further into this challenge that we face on our journey and find ways to overcome these situations as they come up. Through my travels here are some tips that stuck out to me.

1. Walk the length of the buffet before selecting anything it will give you a quickie cardio session see what’s out there and avoid the lure of the seductive heat lamps.

2. Use a salad plate. It’s smaller and it will give you the illusion of a full plate but with half the servings of its larger dinner size counterpart.

3. Limit your trips & plan your route a plate for salad one for entrée and last one for dessert.

4. Pick things that you rarely eat no point in eating pizza when you can have a fabulous Grilled Salmon or New York Steak!

5. Dine Right ” All You Can Eat ” is an offer not a requirement.

Why am I NOT Losing Weight Already????

Hey Divas!

It can be soooooo frustrating when the scale seems to be broken why else not would I not be losing weight? Battling with my own frustrations I had to take a step back and deep dive into possible causes, this is what I found out:

1. Hitting the gym after hittin the club – morning workouts are fabulous provided a diva got a good nights rest the night before at least 7 hours study’s have shown that those who do not get enough sleep can actually gain. So go home before the last call! Quality sleep allows the body to get the restorative rest she needs.

2. Blowing The A/C making your power bill rain! Take heart divas I am guilty as charged on this one especially living in Las Vegas. Artificial climate reduces our appetite and food intake thus slowing down our metabolism mojo! So let’s put on our big girl pants and take a little heat! My A/C had actually went out in my car and your girl is Glow-wing! Lemme tell you!!! A little discomfort can round out those lady lumps and junk in the trunk! glam it up and use a fan in your home act like you are on a photo-shoot!

3. The Finale Chocolate has been discovered as an antioxidant! Cacao in chocolate has been found that it can lower blood pressure and reduce heart attack risk diabetes and dementia possibly even prevent cancer and stroke. There is a HUGE difference between Cacao and a highly processed chocolate candy bar! Look for bars that have at least 65% Cacao and save the M&M’s for treat day 🙂
