Hi Divas & Hello August!
New month new goals. So in short l was doing the extra most over this past year and a half or so during quarantine. I started to get serious about weight loss last month and to really focus on my health and all around wellness. There’s much life l have left to live and l want to be in the best shape possible to enjoy it.

I look at my face and see my mother’s face. I’m 43. She was 53 when she died from complications of diabetes. The older l get l the younger she looks. It’s not too late for me. I can turn this around. I was going down a path of feeling numbness in my legs and my fingers.
I’ve reached the highest weight of my life. I became depressed because l was ashamed that l allowed myself to go this far. Then l remembered l’m a Diva first and foremost always. I keep a smile on my face because I still have my body. I still have my mind. I still have my health.

Ironically, I’m passionate about nutrition. I really deep dived into it over the years after starting my blog. I’m grateful that l have the knowledge to know what l need to do to take care of myself and get back on track while working with my doctor and nutritionist.

Having professional help will hold me accountable to my goals and connect the dots.

Hi Divas,
About this week.🖤
It’s been a tough one.
When those close to me hurt. I hurt. When a loved one is lost there really are no words of comfort that can be offered. Only your love and support.
Many of us are losing our loved ones primarily our parents. A change of the guard. It’s a part of life but losing a parent is losing a piece of your identity. We revert back to being a child in that moment no matter our age. When l lost my Mom almost 20 years ago l thought l had this death and grief thing down. I was painfully wrong.
Losing my second parent in 2018 almost took me out. The emptiness l felt was insurmountable. My father and l were extremely close especially after my Mom died we leaned on each other.
I learned that l had a lot of unresolved issues that came to the surface after his death. It has been my greatest blessing thus far of discovering who l truly am and what l’m made of.

We never truly grow up until our parents are gone.I am grateful and blessed to have had amazing parents who did their very best providing me the tools to succeed in life. My greatest lesson l learned from them was simply observing how they lived.
When l see the post on my timeline of loved ones lost take heart that your pain is felt and that you are not alone. We will all lose someone near and dear to us at some point in our lives but know that ironically these experiences bring us closer to ourselves.
We are not from our parents but we do come through them in this life’s journey. It took me some time to grasp that concept.
Every season of life will require a new you. The most valuable words of wisdom was from my Grandfather.
He died at the age of 86 twenty-five years ago. One of his last words were “ Just when you figure it all out, it’s time to go.” I was young and did not truly understand this concept until now.
There is no rush to get it all right or figure it all out. I’m patient in allowing my life to unfold…

Hey Divas!

I lost 7 lbs this past week. 🙌🏽💖
Juicing is a total game changer! Eating healthier, taking my vitamins. I’m so about this life right now! So l bought my juicer 2 years ago. Just starred at it now using it. To my surprise it was super easy to use and clean.
Taking on the daily detox regimen. Also with everything going on its also a great support to our immune system. Hot water, lemon and honey even better. It helps break up congestion.
Lemon water & Celery juice in the mornings!
{Drink 30 minutes apart}
It helps support liver detox overnight so our body can absorb nutrients & clean out all the toxins and food waste from our body that we store daily! To learn more about health benefits of lemon water & celery juice you can google Anthony William, Medical Medium
Celery juice also helps combat Breast & other Cancers. Cheers to good health! 💚💚

Hey Divas!
The day I noticed I was rockin a Full C Cup on my back everything changed.
When I was first getting started on my wellness journey years ago I was not sure when to work out how long to workout. I just showed up at the gym like Hellooooo I’m here! I walked on the treadmill for about 15 minutes and then if I was up for it I would hit the stair master for a couple of steps until I became lightheaded ( 3 minutes later ) and then headed to the smoothie bar. My work out was all of 20 minutes.
I was completely lost. The few little calories I burned from my 20-30 minute work outs cost me more in gas than the calories I burned. I was still overweight and still on E something had to change. #notagoodlookforadiva
It’s #FlyByJuly365 and I am committed to stepping up my game. I’m ready to do the work.
Experts suggest to start at a 60 minute work-out 5 times a week:
5 minute warm-up cardio session
50 minutes main exercise ( Sweat Sesh #backfatblaasst )
5 minute cool down to bring the heart rate down to normal
If we are good to our bodies, our bodies will be good to us!

Hi Divas!
Welcome to our first official week of ” Flying Back into Fall ” Rome was not built in a day so it will take us time to reach our fitness/weight loss goals. We can’t just say I want to lose 20lbs … 50 lbs… 100lbs… or run the NYC marathon this spring and not have a plan!
There is a saying that goes If you fail to plan then plan to fail.
This is something that I have struggled with for years because I did not know how to plan. I did not know much about calories and to be honest it was very confusing and frustrating because I did not understand it.
A healthy journey is not a straight arrow there are a lot of turns and curves and rebounds it’s not an easy road to travel but as along as we stay on that road we will eventually reach a fork where we can either continue to healthy journey or go back to our old ways. It’s up to us to decide.
Yes! We will have to know what we are eating and how much of it we will need to know how much exercise we are doing so we know what to change. Taking notice now will pay off BIG come Campaign season!
It’s kind of like this think of a house being built without a blueprint if you ” wing it and piece it together is this a house that you would feel safe living in? It’s no different with our bodies.
If your goal is just lose weight for the sake of weight loss then you can lose weight with any diet literally…but if your goal is to be Healthy Fly and Fabulous then subscribe to the blog and read on… divas the first step is to get moving again… it’s hard, it bites hard! You know what, it’s worth it. I just started a walking regimen that includes a lot of stairs and an hill. I complain but then I remember who I am doing this for, myself. We are no good to anyone one else if we are not in check ourselves.
If our physical activity is low the total energy our body burns is low. There is no diet anywhere that will allow a diva to not exercise and maintain a healthy weight if she be over or under.
Yes it’s true you can lose weight thousands of ways without having to exercise. A diva can only do this for so long until she loses her weight starts feeling cute ( we’ve all been there ) and then ….. ahhhhh relaaaaax and BOOM! The weight come back on.
Fauuuuuwww***k.
It’s not all about weightloss… getting active will make a diva feel absolutely Fabulous and she will want to be more active! So get out there and give it a whirl!
