It is important to consider what you are taking and why.
Yes we all need to take a multiple vitamin regardless of your weight and fitness level. It is impossible for us to get all the nutrients we need out of the food that we eat.
If we all lived in a world free of toxins ate only real whole foods had no chronic stress and relaxed as much as we needed to while getting enough exercise, then no we would not need to take vitamins – unfortunantly that is not a world that any of us live in.
Don’t get it twisted dear divas – Supplements are not the new “ fat pill “ they are not a replacement for eating a balanced diet they are just a convenient way to ensure you are receiving all the nutrients you need to maintain optimal health!
As we age or gain weight our need for the amount of supplements we take can increase due to factors like aging, weight gain, degenerative diseases like diabetes and heart disease along with toxins in the environment this can cause vitamin deficiency.
It is essential to take vitamins as a compliment to a healthy balanced diet to maintain good health to help avoid or manage chronic stress and degenerative diseases.
