Summer is here!
Have we reached our Hot Girl Summer Goals Divas? Fly Guys, how we sportin those short shorts?

The burning question: Can I reshape my body in my forties? So as of the end of the summer I will be on the other side of 40. As I approach my 45th trip around the sun by the end of summer I don’t know the short answer to this question for me but I am willing to make this body do what it does this next round.
So last year I set out a goal and created a whole IG account dedicated to my personal wellness journey so much has happened in a year although I have made great strides. I find myself physically in the same space I was a year ago.
Not a good look for a diva!
The point is Life is going to happen. Sh*t is going to happen. I would find myself pausing after every life kick up and set back.
Life is going to happen, there will always be something and things will not always go as planned. It’s in the unexplained, the unexpected and the things that just do not make any sense is where we find our stride.
Sometimes we have to humble ourselves and put down our super hero capes, our fantasy of life was to be and just be like hey, I’m here. I’m alive. As long as I have breath in my body there are things that I need to be doing.
My presence is enough. All we have to do is live and die. It really isn’t that complicated NOT survive and die but LIVE and die.
Giving myself some grace. I have learned so much this past year and will be going in with an eyes wide open approach.
I’ve learned the stuff and have done the things not starting over but starting again. Knowledge means absolutely nothing if you are not putting it into action.
So here we are a fresh start again, we can always begin to begin again but your girl is tired.
This will definitely be a year of focus and I focus on not only my body but my whole life. I invite you as I go on this journey for the next 365 days so if you are in a space of life that you just need to get it together this is the space for you, the space for us.
So if you’re just getting into your 40’s or it’s near looming in the bushes or maybe you’re knee deep in your 40’s like me or maybe you’re about to wrap this decade like a Christmas Tree heading into that Fabulous 50 season this is our time Divas!
We have had our good times, the love of our life, the family or desired having one at one point, we have made the mistakes, have lost loved ones, have had our hearts broken, have learned the lessons & have ultimately grown-up.
We are here ladies. We are here.

I use the word heal and healing sparingly because we were never broken.
We grow & We grown. Yea I said it.
I totally feel like I have super powers in this space of life. I feel the most comfortable in my skin and self assured. I have a complete acceptance of life and it’s f___kery.
AND you know what.
– It’s ok.
Like the saying goes it is what it is until it’s not.

Hey Divas,
So here we are 70+ days into meditation practicing. Shout out to Teresa, Diva Spice with a lil Chai for getting me hip to guided meditation zoning in to zone out.
Breath is life. We would die if we go more than 5 minutes or so without it. None of this life is happening without breath. Practicing meditation has taught me that.
I had done some hot yoga years ago it was my first introduction to meditation then just really started learning about it for the past year or so.
I recently started practicing daily for a little over a month now when l rise, a mid day when l can and before bed.

I definitely needed to take a step back. I was in a space of feeling overwhelmed, resentful, and overall sense of being stuck in my life. I’ve spent my entire adult life catering to everyone and everything but me. – Not a good look for a Diva!
It left me feeling taken for granted and l felt used most of the time. I had to be honest with myself that 75% of my motivation was people pleasing. Then l woke up and realized l don’t owe anyone anything as they don’t owe me.
When we lose people in our life by death or by choice it leaves room. It leaves space. I’ve learned to embrace the emptiness l even welcome it most of the time. I ask myself ok, what’s next?
Honestly All I have to do is live and die and l plan on doing just that. Keeping it Fly n Fabulous! Of course.
Daily Meditation has given me the gift of how to fill the holes of my soul. lt has given me the gift of truly loving myself. It is the most private intimate experience to have with yourself just being present with your breath and in tune with your body. It truly means to surrender to the moment.
To my surprise l am able to meditate in as little of 5 minutes to 15 minutes. It is the ultimate form of self care, self love but most importantly self compassion.
When we love on ourselves it literally flows into every aspect of our life. The overflow goes to everyone and everything instead of us pulling from ourselves. It pulls us within ourselves. Having an awareness of self gives us choices.
To overextended ourselves and not have any boundaries is the ultimate betrayal. The betrayal of self. Anyone can turn their back on you. People will disappoint you. It’s Life. To turn your back on yourself is the ultimate betrayal because you will never rise higher than your own standards.
I challenge you to stop. To pause. To take a deep breath in of all the goodness in your life and exhale all of what is no longer serving you in your life! Lay down and line up those chakra stones and gets to breathing dear diva!

Hey Divas!
Knowing the assignment is key the grade is the result. Remember those kids who seemed to get straight A’s with no real effort that we perceived they were naturally smart?
Those kids had systems, habits and discipline many of them in sports or had some kind of passion for an extra curricular activity. It got me thinking…that it’s no different with our body and our health & wellness journey approach.
The assignment is simple but not easy.
1. Eat Clean
2. Move your body
3. Be Consistent
Plus a bonus thought 💭 Have a hobby you love because there is more to life than exercise & eating.
I remember focusing so much on the scale like it was a scribe of some sort like the change of numbers was going to do something significant in my life. When l focused on my actual efforts and actions taken is when l felt most progress not the numbers on the scale. The numbers were just a result of my efforts. I now use the scale as awareness that l’m on my game or off it.
I went hiking over the weekend and walked 9.5 miles and over 23k steps! The assignment was to complete the hike as a result l lost 3lbs but my focus was not weightloss it was l need to complete this hike. Plus there was no way we were getting out from there no cars, it was our only choice.

I was tired sore and walked like an 80 year old woman afterwards but also felt so strong and so proud of my body carrying me this far.
It was definitely the kick start l needed and my body thanked me for it by rewarding me with more energy after l rested over the next 24 hours.
When we finished our hike we went out to eat. l truly enjoyed my food it seemed to taste better and l truly felt like l earned it which has been a complete game changer.

Let’s face it Divas wanna be beautiful. Everyone wants to look Fly! Being beautiful is the most desired as nourishing force of life because it arises from love.
Beauty is really an inside job! We got a troop of 50 million cells in our body and the health of these cells are impacted by the food we eat, nutrients in our blood and those missing from our blood.
So as we welcome February the month of love and although life is ahhhmazing with love in it, and having a compatible partner is delicious it’s not critical for our physical survival.
“Love don’t pay the bills.” You can spend your entire life searching for external love but take heart dear diva all love that is ever needed in this life is from our own supply ❤️ everything else overflows and things have a way of working out.

Hi Divas!
Here we are into a New Campaign season!
So what’s the real flex on a wellness journey?
Self Awareness for sure.
I started detoxing last week drinking lemon water, celery juice and detox smoothie to start my day. l’m working on being more active on my trampoline. I have long work days, honestly do not have the time on my work days to work out but will go outside to walk on my off days. So for now l get in my jumps throughout the day and it gives me a boost.
I noticed feeling tired in spite of eating healthier. I have my energy throughout the day which is great but still my body is catching up if that makes sense. I’ve been food journaling which has been helpful to understand my habits and improvements over time.

It’s also important to know where you’re going. Where do you see yourself one year from now? Really think about it. Think about it in every aspect of your life. We all need something to look forward to.
So for starters that we are officially in Campaign Season we will start with our goals.
Breaking down a goal can be overwhelming and a year can seem so far away even though they seem to fly by so fast at the same time.
Write down your Ultimate Goal – This is what we want to ultimately achieve. Write down what you will need to do in order to achieve that goal. Be honest with your self and what barriers can be in the way of stopping you. Then start slashing them one by one. In short make your goals your bishh .
No small goal in between is too small only as long as it is bringing you to your ultimate vision.
So we start with long term goals, what will we need to do monthly to get there, what will we need to do weekly. What will we need to do daily?
Then Reward yourself for each goal achieved in each category start learning how to pamper and treat yourself that has nothing to do with food to keep you inspired and on the course!
