What’s a girl to eat?

So many choices….mmmm I’m hungry.

Well if you are like most divas, taste, price, how easy it is to prepare and nutrition play a major role and food presentation is a must  lol….

We know that making the right food choices can help prevent health problems like heart disease, diabetes and cancer.

We are bombarded on a daily basis with so much confusing information.

How does a girl know if she is choosing the right foods?

The following 5 characteristics of a healthy diet from nutrition experts Frances Sizer, M.S., and Elanor Whitney, Ph.D

1. Adequacy – Make sure your diet provides enough vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients to replace those you use up each day.

2. Balance – Don’t fill up on one food that is good for you and neglect the other for example if you eat nothing but protein don’t think that you don’t need calcium etc.

3. Calorie Control – Take no more calories than you use – If you don’t use it – you don’t lose it , it stores as fat which can cause you to become overweight and other health problems.

4. Moderation – Limit certain foods – foods like the ones that contain alot of fat and cholesterol and sugar – this does not mean you can’t indulge by having a great steak or hot fudge sundae. It just means what is says moderation not total abstinence.

5. Variety – Yes variety is the spice of life! Eat alot of different foods you will not only get the nutrients you will need but you will also enjoy meal time more 🙂 also becareful not to eat the same thing all the time because alot of food contain small amounts of toxins – the body usually does not notice it unless you eat it alot –

Slow your role sister!

Wait a few days before repeating the same food to help reduce your chances of any danger.

Monday Motivation! 

Money can buy happiness; that is why it is so valuable.

No matter how much money we have it can always buy happiness – it can be to pay your rent so that you have a place to lay your head at night.

It can provide that you are able to pay your electric bill so your lights do not get turned off that you can enjoy television and surf the internet.

I was real happy to have my lights on last night 🙂

Money can buy happiness but can not be your salvation. 

More money more problems you know how many of these celebrities and billionaires end their lives beacause they are so miserable with their lives?

The best way to make money is to make it  your hobby and not your God.

Money Collecting is a Fabulous hobby! 

Money collecting beats collecting coins, beanie babies, and farm animals on farm-ville any-day!

Hobbies are the joy of life they keep us inspired, entertained and they are FUN!

This hobby will get you up early in the morning – you may not even sleep because you are so excited!

Remember Christmas Eve when you were a kid?

That’s how excited you want to be EVERYDAY!

Men seem to always hit on me when I’m on my period. WhY?

Hello Beauties!

Doesn’t it always seem like when we are on our periods that men just seem to come out of the woodwork and all up in a diva’s pearls?

Doesn’t it always seem like our husbands, boyfriends, significant others want some action when we are feeling emotional, bloaded and not our usual diva-selves?

” Back up off me! – Dude. Get off my lawn!  ” 

The First two weeks before we get our official period.

The first phase that our body goes through is called the proliferative phase. This phase actualy begins the last day that we are on our period.

It last 14 days in an average 28 day cycle. During this phase the the ovaries prepare for ovulation so our estrogen begins to pump up and we may feel a sense of well-being – We feel Great – Confident -Social and Diva-licious!

We are good towards our men if not all men …….

…… ” Hey, how are YOUUUUUUUUUUU Doooooooiiinnn? ”  in proper diva etiquette of course.

When the estrogen is a flowin all is good and we are flirting, we are fabulous and we want to be serviced!

This would be a Great Time to plan a Romantic Get-a-way or set your sights on that cutie you’ve had your eye on 🙂

We are less likely to be irritable or defensive during this time in our cycle.

So, that’s it in a nut shell our estrogen and hormones start to build up at peak levels starting at the end our cycle.

When our cycle actually begins we are comming down from the peak levels of estrogen in our body.

Estrogen is our secret Mojo! It’s what brings the boys to yard.

The next time you feel your period comming on….. never underestimate the powers of estrogen!

When all have one of these wardrobe problems at one time or another in our lives. What one considers a problem area another diva may not.

Some divas are comfortable exposing their bare arms where another may not – a busty diva may be a bit more reserved where another may have the girls out to play….

We all are of different shapes and sizes  so whatever you’ve got work with it and  Flaunt your best Stuff!

If you’ve got a great rack spice up a V Neck with a Fabulous T shaped sparkly necklas! 

Self -conscious about your arms?  Rock a 3 quarter sleeve and dazzle it up with some bangles! 

Are you Bootylicious? Get some flair with a wide leg trouser and dress it up with a pair of  Sexy high-heeled boots!

 Grrrwwwwlllll…….. Look out WORLD! It’s up to you to decide what is comfortable to you and what fits your comfort zone.

If you like it, I LOVE it!  ROCK IT!

Problem: Large bust

Solution: Many women think they’re hiding their ample chest by covering it up with a turtleneck but they’re actually making their breasts appear larger. The slimming solution is a top with a scoop neck, which balances the proportion and directs the gaze to your collarbone area and face.

Problem: Untoned arms

Solution: Instead of covering up flabby arms, go for a top with a three-quarter-length sleeve. Because it ends at the thinnest point of your arm (your elbow), the sleeve creates a slimming illusion.

Problem: Big butt

Solution: Stay away from pants that taper at the ankle and tops that are too short. A more flattering combo is a pair of flared jeans and a patterned top that hits at hip-length.

Problem: Muffin top

Solution: Do not buy pants that are too tight or shirts that are made of thin or sheer material. Go for pants with a higher waist– to keep the lower belly covered– and add a loose top with a pattern that attracts the eye.

Problem: Thick thighs

Solution: Skinny pants only emphasize the issue. Wide-leg trousers– which happen to be a big fall trend– give the illusion of a long thin leg. Avoid tight skirts that hit at midcalf and opt for A-line looks instead.

Problem: Sizable tummy

Solution: New moms know this problem well. A great go-to combo is a tunic and leggings. The tight leggings draw attention to slender stems and the drapey, loose top camouflages belly fat. If you’re looking for an evening option, dresses with ruching are ideal.

Fabulous Fridays! Better Than Beauty Secrets! 

On our journey to reaching our fitness and weight-loss goals can sometimes be a little overwhelming  in the begining not really sure what we want; just that we want to lose weight or that we want to be healthier but don’t know how to begin or where to start.

It has been said that one of the most effective ways to make desires and dreams come true is to put them into words.

Everything starts with the written word, when we write it helps bring vision into something real that’s not just in your head. It’s on paper or on your ipad, computer etc.

Envisioning yourself at the end of your fitness weightl-loss journey is a great way to get the begin taking action on acheiving your goals.

It helps clarify your true desires, maybe you write about being able to keep up with your young children. You may see yourself  celebrating with family and friends who are so proud of you and the direction that you have taken to be a healthier person as you enjoy a great family meal together, simply enjoying each others company or you may envision yourself on vacation in Morocco walking along the beach wearing a swimsuit and showing off your beautiful toned body that you have worked so hard for having a sense of accomplishment, feeling healthy, beautiful and strong just as you were made to be.

People will notice and  they will  ; ) what has gotten into you before you even step foot into a gym or strap on a pair of tennis shoes, people will be refreshed, inspired and happy to be in your presence.

Putting your passions, desires, goals, and dreams to paper is a way of creating a roadmap for your journey of becomming more of the woman you choose to be.
