Carbohydrate cravings can lead a diva to eating high-glycemic foods such as bread, rice, potatoes, commercial baked products and sweets.
When we eat these foods our the food is digested quickly and causes a rapid spike in blood-sugar
This then triggers mother load of insulin which then causes our blood sugar to drop into the hypo-glycemic range….. and can cause us to feel sleepy after having a Big Ole’ Greasy Burger! It sure was good though … sigh ….
This leads to the release of stress hormones which drives the blood sugar back to normal but leaves us with an uncontrollable hunger which makes us want to eat again!
Remember 4am Breakfast after drinking all night back in the clubbing days ring a bell?
Usually we will crave another high-glycemic meal or snack continuing on this vicious cycle.
If you start the day off eating a high glycemic meal, you may eat upto 80% more calories in the day.
It is important to observe whether you are spiking your blood sugar with your food choices.
Switching to low- glycemic eating will kick-back those carb cravings and help you control your appetite which may help you lose weight as a pleasant side effect 🙂

You better not work out if you are overweight – You’ll only get muscles and look bigger than you already look.

Really?
This statement could not be further from the truth. Sometimes we may think if we train with weights that we will end up looking like Arnold or should I say Aaaaa – naaa -lll -ddd.
Did you know that muscles take up less space than fat and help to burn fat. If you work out you will more likely see a change in dress size by one or two before you see any changes on the scale.
If we wait to lose weight before we start working our body will become flabby kind of like a ballon with no air in it. and our bones will not get the benefit of a weight-training work out.
Why put it off?
If we work out, stay fabulous all the while following a sensible healthy diet instead of feeling deprived we will think like athletes.
We are in training to get FLY by JULY Divas!
We are training, we are eating for strength, energy and our health!

Hello Beauties!
In serious relationships, marriages, partnerships, etc.
We may sometimes get too comfortable in a relationship once we have“ secured” a partner we may no longer feel the need to look our best, being fabulous and going to the gym does not seem to be so much of a priority anymore now that we “ have a man “
The irony of it all when marriages/relationships end we find ourselves trying to slim down again in the hopes of attracting a new man.
Once we start gaining weight it’s like a running train; once we are on it, it does not stop and it is difficult to get off.
There are many reasons why marriages/relationships can lead to weight gain, but the most common include:
- We are no longer trying to attract a partner
- Pregnancy occurs
- We cook for gratification
- We eat as much as our partner
- We put our family’s eating preferences above our own
- We become the family’s garbage disposal
- Our partner sabotages us
- We are in an unhappy marriage and turn to food for solace
- We have unresolved issues
Marriages and relationships should not end for us to want to take better care of ourselves and look and feel FABULOUS!
If we don’t love ourselves enough to take care of our body and health, how should we expect our husbands and significant others to love us?
